T20I – West Indies vs Pakistan at Gros Islet

This match represents the 199th T20I game in the history of T20 Internationals. This game was Pakistan's 46th T20I game and Pakistan holds the record of playing most T20Is. Australia {41} and New Zealand {43} are the other two teams to have played more than 40 games in the history of T20 Internationals.

Pakistan has played 46 games of which it has won 27 games, lost 18 games and one game has ended in a tie, while West Indies played 29 games of which it has won 12 games, lost 15 games and tied two games.

West Indies and Pakistan have met each other in a T20I game for the first occasion and West Indies romped home victorious by seven runs.

Pakistan capped Mohammad Salman and Junaid Khan for this game. They became the 40th and 41st cricketers to represent Pakistan in T20 games. They also became the first and second Pakistan cricketers to make their debut in T20Is against West Indies.

CD Barnwell, D Bishoo, DP Hyatt, AR Nurse and AD Russel made their T20I debut in this game for West Indies. The number of cricketers who have represented West Indies in T20Is rose to 46. These five cricketers became the first five cricketers to make their T20 debut against Pakistan.

Mohamad Salman became the 43rd wicket keeper batsman to make debut in the history of T20Is. He became the fourth Pakistan wicket keeper batsman to make debut in T20 games. Mohammad Salman became the fifth wicket keeper batsman to make debut against West Indeis in T20Is, Others are – MJ Prior of England at The Oval on 28.06.07 : L Ronchi of Australia at Bridgetown on 20.06.08 : SM Davies of England at Port of Spain on 15.03.09 and C Kieswetter of England at Providence on 03.05.10.

LMP Simmons scored 62 in this game which represent the 200th occasion of a batsman scoring a fifty in the history of T20 Internationals. His knock represents the 16th occasion of West Indies batsman scoring 50 plus runs in T20Is.

LMP Simmons' 62 represents his second fifty in T20Is, the first being his 77 against South Africa at The Oval on 13.06.09.

LMP Simmons' 62 in this game represent the 12th occasion of a West Indian opening batsman scoring fifty in T20Is. His knock represents 104th occasion of an opening batsman scoring a fifty in the history of T20 Internationals.

DJ Sammy became the 54th captain to lead a team in T20Is. He led West Indies in this game. He became the seventh captain to lead West Indies in T20Is. Others are – SC Chanderpaul, CH Gayle, RR Sarwan, DJ Bravo, D Ramdin and FL Reifer.

LMP Simmons was run out for 65 in this game providing the 13th occasion of a batsman dismissed run out after scoring a fifty in the history of T20 Internationals. He became the second West Indian batsman to be dismissed run out after scoring a fifty. CH Gayle was the other batsman to be dismissed in such a manner. He was dismissed run out for 98 against India at Bridgetown on 09.05.10.

Saeed Ajmal's T20I wicket aggregate stood at 43 at the end of this game. He took two wickets in this game. He now occupies the third place in the list of most wicket takers in T20Is. Shahid Afridi {53}, Umar Gul {47} occupies the first two places. It is interesting to note that the first three places amongst the bowlers who have taken most wickets are held by Pakistan bowlers.

D Bishoo with his 4 for 17 in this game became the second bowler to capture four wickets against Pakistan on debut in T20Is. The other bowler was K Weeraratne of Sri Lanka who on his debut had captured 4 for 19 against Pakistan at King City {NW} on 11.10.00.

MN Samuel was dismissed stumped for 4 in this game providing the 115th occasion of a batsman stumped in the history of T20Is. He became the tenth West Indian batsman to be dismissed stumped in T20Is. He became the 31st batsman to be dismissed stumped against Pakistan in T20Is.
