Openers dismissed run out and stumped

G Gambhir was dismissed run
out for 41 and V Sehwag was dismissed stumped for 55 in the ongoing first test
at Delhi between India and West Indies providing the second occasion of openers
dismissed run out and stumped in the same innings of a test match in the annals
of test cricket.

The first such occasion was
witnessed at Brisbane in the test match between Australia and West Indies
in Feb 1931. WM Woodfull was run out for 33 while WH Ponsford was stumped for
24. It is interesting to note the on both the occasions - Oppoistion was the
same, that is West Indies.  The following table shows both the rare
instances.
