One-off T20: England vs India

- India capped AM Rahane and R Dravid for this game. They became the 38th and 39th cricketers to represent Indian in T20Is. They also became the third and fourth Indian cricketers to make their T20I debut vs England.

 

- R Dravid hit three sixes during his knock of 31 in this game. He became the 16th batsman to score three or more sixes in his debut innings. He became the second Indian batsman to score three sixes in his debut innings after M Vijay. M Vijay has scored three sixes in his debut knock of 48 against Afghanistan at Gros Islet on 01.05.10.

 

- AM Rahane scored 61 in this game to become the first Indian batsman to score a fifty on T20I debut. The previous best was M Vijay's 48 against Afghanistan at Gros Islet on 01.05.10.

 

- AM Rahane with his 61 on debut became the eleventh batsman to score a fifty on debut in the history of T20 Internationals.

 

- RG Sharma and KP Pietersen were dismissed stumped in this game providing the 118th and 119th occasion of a batsman dismissed stumped in the history of T20 Internationals.

 

- RG Sharma's dismissal stumped in this game provides the third occasion of an Indian batsman dismissed stumped in T20Is. Others are - Yuvraj Singh for 17 vs England at Lord's on 14.06.09 and RG Sharma for 10 vs Zimbabwe at Harare on 12.06.10.

 

- RG Sharma became the second Indian batsman to be dismissed stumped against England in T20 Internationals. RG Sharma's dismissals stumped in this game provides the eleventh occasion o batsman dismissed in such a manner against England.

 

- RG Sharma became the first Indian batsman to be dismissed stumped on two occasions in T20 Internationals. RG Sharma became the 24th batsman in the history of T20Is to be dismissed stumped on two or more occasions.

 

- KP Pietersen was dismissed stumped for 33 in this game to provide the third occasion of an England batsman to be dismissed stumped in a T20I. Other two are - PD Collingwood for 27 vs West Indies at The Oval on 29.06.07 and MJ Lumb for 25 vs Pakistan at Bridgetown on 06.05.10.

 

- KP Pietersen became the first England batsman to be dismissed stumped against India in T20Is. He also became the sixth batsman to be dismissed stumped against India in a T20I game.

 

- KP Pietersen became the second batsman in the history of T20Is to score 1000 plus runs. He completed 1000 runs when he was on 22 during the course of his knock of 33 in this game. At the end of this game his run aggregate stood at 1011. BB McCullum of New Zealand {1100} is the other batsman to total 1000 plus runs in T20Is.

 

- KP Pitersen's aggregate of boundary fours in T20Is stood at 101 at the end of this game. He became the fifth batsman in the history of T20Is to aggregate 100 plus boundary fours. Others are - GC Smith (122}, BB McCullum (112}, Mahela Jayawardene (105} and TM Dilshan (104}.

 

- R Dravid made his T20I debut in this game at the age of 38 years 232 days. He stands third in the list of oldest cricketers on debut in T20Is. The first two cricketers in the list are - S Dhaniram of Canada who made his debut at the age of 39 years and 290 days vs Netherlands at Belfast on 02.08.08 and S Thuraisingam of Canada who made his debut at the age of 38 years and 326 days vs Netherlands at Belfast on 02.08.08.

 

- JW Dernbach returned with figures of 4 for 22 in this game to provide the 52nd occasion of a bowler taking four or more wickets in T20Is. His figures provide the third occasion of an England bowler taking four or more wickets in T20Is. Others are - 4 for 24 by J Lewis vs Australia at Southampton on 13.06.05 and 4 for 22 by PD Collingwood vs Sri Lanka at Southampton on 15.06.06.

 

- JW Dernbach with his 4 for 22 in this game became the fifth bowler to capture four wickets against India in T20Is. Others are - 4 for 18 by Mohammad Asif of Pakistan at Durban on 12.09.07, 4 for 20 by DL Vettori of New Zealand at Johannesburg on 16.09.07, 4 for 38 by DJ Bravo of West Indies at Lord's on 12.06.09 and 4 for 16 by DJ Sammy of West Indies at Trinidad on 04.06.11.

 

- JW Dernbach with his 4 for 22 in this game became the first England bower to take four wickets in a T20I game against India. His figures provide the best bowling figures by an England bowler against India in T20Is. The previous best was GP Swann's 2 for 28 at Lord's on 14.06.09.

 

- C Kieswetter and KP Pietersen added 58 runs for the second wicket in this game after England had lost its first wicket without a run on the board to provide the fifth occasion of a team posting fifty runs stand for the second wicket after it had lost the first wicket without a run on the board. The other four occasions are - S Chanderpaul and DS Smith of West Indies added 95 runs vs Bangladesh at Johannesburg on 13.09.07, MJ Guptil and JD Ryder of New Zealand added 62 runs vs Sri Lanka at Providence on 30.04.10, Kamran Akmal and Salman Butt of Pakistan added 61 runs vs Australia at Birmingham on 06.07.10 and MJ Guptil and JEC Franklin added 91 runs vs Pakistan at Hamilton on 28.12.10.

 

- EJG Morgan's 49 in this game represent the highest individual score by an England batsman against India in T20Is. The previous best was 46 by KP Pietersen at Lord's on 14.06.09.

 

- KP Pietersen became the first England batsman to total 100 plus runs against India. His total at the end of this game read 118. He became the seventh batsman to score 100 plus runs against India. Others are   KC Sangakkara (183}, BB McCullum (170}, TM Dilshan (129}, CH Gayle (120}, AB de Villiers (115} and CK Kapugedera (102}.

 

- India was all out for 165 in this game providing the 69th occasion of a team dismissed all out in T20Is. It also provides the third occasion of India dismissed all out against various oppositions in T20Is. Other occasions are - 74 vs Australia at Melbourne on 01.02.08 and 153 vs Australia at Bridgetown on 07.05.10.
