- Bangalore Provident {Rural} defeated Malnad Gladiators by six wickets.


- Put into bat, Malnad Gladiators batsmen did not live upto their reputation, with the exception of Sanjay Kumar and threw away the match in a jiffy. It was a continuous parade as wickets fell at regular intervals. Talented batsmen like Ganesh Satish, Kunal Kapoor, RR Bhatkal were dismissed for single digits and their total contribution to the team total was a meager 15.


- It was a nightmarish start for Gladiators as they lost half the side for 27. A sixth wicket stand between KC Avinash and Sanaj Kumar worth 30 runs and 23 runs partnership for the seventh wicket between Sanjay Kumar and K Gowtham helped Gladiators to reach 102. This is the lowest completed innings total posted by a team in the second edition of Mantri-KPL. Gladiator became the second team to be dismissed all out in this edition.


- Sanjay Kumar's 36 came in as many balls contained three fours and a six. K Gowtham's 27 came in 16 balls with two fours and two sixes.  NC Aiyappa {2 for 12}, A Jagan {2 for 13}, Rahul R Bhatkal {2 for 23} shone with the leather for Provident.


- It was an easy chase for Provident as they reached the target for the loss of four wickets. Amit Verma {22}, MK Manjunath {22} and AA Joshi {34 not out} batted well to take their team to a facile six wickets victory. AA Joshi's essay came in 24 balls with two fours and two sixes. K Gowtham picked up three wickets conceding 19 runs.
