IPL Match 54: Match No 54 : Kings Eleven Punjab vs Mumbai Indians

Kings XI's victory margin of 76 runs in this game provides the 19th occasion of a team winning an IPL game by 50 plus runs margin. It also provides the fourth such occasion in IPL 2011. Other three occasions arec – Bangalore's win by 85 runs against Mohali at Bangalore on 06.05.11, Chennai's win by 63 runs against Jaipur at Jaipur on 09.05.11 and Hyderabad's win by 55 runs against Kochi at Kochi on 27.04.11.

Mumbai was all out of 87 in this game providing the 12th occasion of a team dismissed for a total less than 100 in IPL. It also represents Mumbai's lowest total in IPL. The
previous lowest was 116 against Delhi at East London on 08.05.09. It also represents the first occasion of Mumbai dismissed for a total less than 100 in IPL.

AC Blizzard took three catches in this game to provide the 18th occasion of a fieldsman taking three or more catches in IPL. AC Blizzard became the fourth Mumbai fieldsman to
take three or more catches in an innings. The other three are – SR Tendulkar {04} vs Kolkata at Mumbai on 16.05.08, AM Nayar {03} vs Bangalore at Mumbai on 20.04.08 and RV Uthappa {03} vs Delhi at Mumbai on 04.05.08.

MM Patel's 5 for 21 in this game was in a losing cause providing the sixth occasion of a bowler's four plus wickets going in vain and the first occasion of a bowler's five wicket haul going in vain in IPL.

MM Patel with his 5 for 21 in this game became the fifth bowler to capture four or more wickets against Mohali and the second bowler to capture five wickets against Mohali in
IPL. L Balaji of Chennai is the other bowler to capture five wickets against Mahali – 5 for 24 at Chennai on 10.05.08. It is a purely a statistical coincidence that MM Patel's
feat of 5 for 21 against Mohali came exactly after three years. L Balaji's five wicket haul was on 10.05.08 and MM Patel's five wicket haul came on 10.05.11. MM Patel's five for 21 represent the best bowling figures against Mohali in IPL.

BA Bhatt captured 4 for 22 in this game to provide the 38th occasion of a bowler capturing four or more wickets in IPL. His feat provides the fourth occasion of a Mohali bowler capturing four wickets in IPL. The other three occasions are – 4 for 31 by YA Abdulla vs Bangalore at Durban on 24.04.09, 4 for 36 by YA Abdulla vs Bangalore at Durban on 01.05.09 and 4 for 29 by PC Valthaty vs Hyderabad at Hyd-RGS on 16.04.11.
