IPL Match 09: Kings XI Punjab vs Chennai Super Kings

- MS Dhoni who became the first captain to lead in 75 T20 games extended his record to 76 games by leading Chennai in this game. AC Gilchrist is the other captain to lead a team in 51 T20 games. This game was AC Gilchrist's 51st game as captain in T20 games.

 

- MS Dhoni now owns the record for leading a team in IPL on most occasions. This game was his 45th game of leading Chennai. He went past SK Warne who has led Jaipur on 44 occasions.

 

- S Badrinath and SK Raina share the record for most capped cricketer in IPL> Both have appeared in 48 games.

 

- S Aniruddha was dismissed by the first ball of the match in this game providing the tenth occasion of a batsman dismissed by the first ball of the match in IPL. He became the second batsman to suffer such an ignominy in IPL 2011. MA Agarwal of Bangalore was dismissed by the first ball of the match against Mumbai on at Bangalore on 12.04.11.
