IPL 2011 : Match No 31 : Pune Warriors vs Chennai Super Kings

MS Dhoni became the first captain to appear in 50 IPL games. This game was his 50th appearance in IPL.

 

MS Dhoni became the seventh cricketer to appear in 50 plus IPL games. Others are – SK Raina {53} : S Badrinath {53} : AC Gilchrist {51} : V Kohli {51} : RG Sharma {51}  and RV Uthappa {51}.

S Badrianth and SK Raina became the most capped cricketers in IPL. This game was the 53rd appearance for both the cricketers.

Yuvraj Singh's 62 in this game provide the 43rd occasion of a batsman scoring a fifty in IPL 2011. His knock represents the third occasion of a Pune batsman scoring a fifty in
IPL 2011.

-DYP on 17.04.11 and 100* by SR Tendulkar of Mumbai vs Kochi at Mum-WS on 15.04.11. Thus Yuvraj Singh became the first captain in IPL 2011 to witness two of his fifties in a losing cause.

S Badrinath scored 63 not out in this game to provide the 44th occasion of a batsman scoring fifty in IPL 2011. His knock represents the eighth occasion of Chennai batsman
scoring a fifty in IPL. His knock represents the tenth occasion of a batsman scoring a fifty while batting at number three in IPL 2011.

S Badrinath's 63 not out in this game represent his third fifty in IPL 2011. The other two occasions are – 66 not out vs Mohali at Mohali on 13.04.11 and 71 not out vs Mumbai at Mum-WS on 22.04.11. He became the third batsman after JH Kallis and DA Warner to score three fifties in IPL 2011.

SK Raina took his IPL run aggregate to 1528 with his 34 not out in this game. He became the first batsman to complete 1500 runs in IPL.

SK Raina took his aggregate of boundary sixes to 65 with his two sixes in this game, while Yuvraj Singh’s aggregate of boundary sixes to 59 with his four sixes in this game. Chennai won this game by three wickets which gave the 30t win in IPL. Chennai became the first team in IPL to past 30 wins. Chennai became the second team in IPL to play 53 matches. This game was its 53rd match. Bangalore is the other team to play 53 matches in IPL.
