R Dravid completed 1500 runs against West Indies during the course of his knock of 112 in the second innings of this test. At the end of this test his aggregate stood at 1560 plus. He became the third Indian batsman to total 1500 runs against West Indies. Others are - SM Gavaskar {2749} and DB Vengsarkar {1596}

R Dravid's 112 runs in this game represent his 32nd hundred in tests. He became the seventh batsman to score 32 plus hundreds in the annals of test cricket. Others are - SR Tendulkar {51}, JH Kallis {40}, RT Ponting {39}, SM Gavaskar {34}, BC Lara {34} and SR Waugh {32}

R Dravid and A Mishra added 56 runs for the ninth wicket in this test providing the fourth occasion of his being a partner in a 50 plus runs partnership for the ninth wicket in a test innings. The other three occasions are - 60 runs with BKV Prasad vs England at Nottingham in Jul 96, 61 with BKV Prasad vs New Zealand at Hamilton in Jan 99 and 60 with BKV Prasad vs Sri Lanka at Galle in Aug 2001. It is interesting to note that all these four stands have been partnered on away soil.

 

R Dravid and A Mishra added 56 runs for the ninth wicket in this test providing the ninth occasion of his being a partner in a half century runs partnership for the various wickets in a test innings against West Indies. This is the first occasion of R Dravid partnering a   stand for the ninth wicket against West Indies which incidentally became a 50 plus runs stand.

 

R Dravid was dismissed caught in both innings of this test providing the 139th and 140th occasion of his dismissed caught in his test career. He became the fifth batsman in the annals of test cricket to be dismissed caught on 140 plus occasions in the annals of test cricket.  The others are - SR Tendulkar {152}, BC Lara {144}, SM Gavaskar {141} and SR Waugh {140}

 

Out of the 140 dismissals when he was caught, 80 of them have been by a fielder and 60 of them have been caught by a wicket keeper.

 

R Dravid's 112 in this test represent the 406th hundred by an Indian batsman in a test innings. It also represents the 188th hundred by an Indian batsman on away soil. India is the fourth country to post 400 plus hundreds. Others are - England {781}, Australia {739} and West Indies {433}. The 400th hundred was scored by R Dravid with his 104 vs New Zealand at Ahmedabad in Nov 2010.

 

R Dravid's aggregate of boundary fours at the end of this test read 1533. He is one of the three batsmen who have scored more than 1500 boundary fours in the annals of test cricket. Others are - SR Tendulkar {1892} and BC Lara {1559}

 

R Dravid's previous hundred on away soil was his 111 retired not out vs Bangladesh in Jan 2010. His 112 against West Indies in this test has come after 15 innings. In between these two hundreds, he has not scored any half centuries. His highest score was 44 vs Sri Lanka at Galle in Jul 2010.

R Dravid registered his 72nd fifty with his 112 in this test to become the second batsman to score 70 plus fifties while batting at number three in a test innings. RT Ponting {75} is the other batsman to score 70 plus fifties while batting at number three.

 

R Dravid registered his 26th hundred with his 112 in this test to become the second batsman to score 25 or more hundreds while batting at number three in a test innings. RT Ponting {32} is the other batsman to score 25 plus hundreds while batting at number three

 

R Dravid's run aggregate at the end of this test read 9769 while batting at number three. He is now 87 runs shy of RT Ponting who has an aggregate of 9856 runs while batting at the same position as that of R Dravid. RT Ponting and R Dravid are the only two batsmen to total 9000 plus runs while batting at number three.

 

D Bishoo returned with his best bowling effort in an innings when he captured 4 for 65 in the second innings of this test. It was an improvement over his previous best of 4 for 68 vs Pakistan at Providence in May 2011.

RR Sarwan failed to score in the second innings providing his 12th duck of his test career. He became the 19th West Indian batsman to collect 12 or more ducks.

 

His duck represents the 134th occasion of a West Indian batsman scoring zero against India. It was his second duck against India, the first one was at Gros Islet in Jun 2006.
