1st T20I: Pakistan vs South Africa at Abu Dhabhi – Statistical Highlights

- GC Smith with his 13 in this game took his T20I aggregate runs to 920. He went past England's KP Pietersen's 911 runs to occupy the second place amongst the most run getters in T20I games. The first place is held by BB McCullum of New Zelaland who has an aggregate of 1100 runs.

 

- GC Smith has an aggregate of 118 boundary fours at the end of this game. He has the most number of boundary fours in T20Is to his credit. The only other batsman to score more than 100 boundary fours is BB McCullum of New Zealand. He has scored 110 boundary fours.

 

- Misbah-ul-Haq and Shoaib Akhtar added 20 runs for the tenth wicket in this game to provide the fifth occasion of 20 plus runs stand for the tenth wicket in T20Is. The other four are – 28 runs between JDP Oram and JS Patel of New Zealand vs Australia at Perth on 11.12.07, 23 runs between PJ Ongondo and HA Varaiya of Kenya vs Pakistan at Nairobi {Gym} on 04.09.07, 21* runs between RM Haq and JD Nel of Scotland vs Kenya at Nairobi {Gym} on 01.02.10 and 20 runs between SJ Benn and NO Miller of West Indies vs Australia at Gros Islet on 11.05.10.

 

- Misbah-ul-Haq completed 600 T20I runs when he was on 23 during his knock of 27 in this game. At the end of this game, he has an aggregate of 604 runs. He became the fourth Pakistan batsman to total 600 plus runs in T20Is. Others are – Kamran Akmal {704}, Shaaib Malik {636} and Shahid Afridi {627}.

 

- Misbah-ul-Haq and Shoaib Akhtar added 20 runs for the tenth wicket in this game to provide the record stand for the tenth wicket by Pakistan batsmen in T20Is. They wrested the previous best of 15* runs stand between Mohommad Asif and Saeed Ajmal against England at Bridgetown on 06.05.10.

 

- LL Tsotsobe {3 for 16} and J Botha {3 for 31} captured three wickets each in this game providing the 31st occasions of two bowlers capturing three or more wickets in an innings in T20Is. This is the second occasion of South African bowlers performing such a feat. The other occasion was at Bridgetown on 05.05.10. In this gmae CK Langveldt {3 for 12} and M Morkel {4 for 20} had captured three or more wickets.

 

- LL Tsotsobe {3 for 16} and J Botha {3 for 31} captured three wickets each in this game providing the 18th and 19th occasion of South African bowler capturing three or more wickets in T20Is.

 

- J Botha's 3 for 31 in this game represent the third occasion of his capturing three wickets in T20Is. The other two occasions are – 3 for 16 vs India at Nottingham on 16.06.09 and 3 for 22 vs West Indies at North Sound on 20.05.10.

 

- J Botha became the first South African bowler to capture three or more wickets on three occasions. CK Langveldt, M Mokel, WD Parnell and SM Pollock are the other four bowlers who have performed the feat on two occasions.

 

- J Botha became the 17th bowler in the history of T20Is to capture three or more wickets on three or more occasions.

 

- J Botha's 3 for 31 in this game provide the eighth occasion of a captain capturing three or more wickets in a T20I game. He became the first South African bowler to perform the feat.

 

- Umar Gul scored zero in this game providing the 27th occasion of a Pakistan batsman scoring zero in T20Is. Umar Gul's zero in this game represents his third duck. Other two occasions are – against India at Johannesburg on 24.09.07 and against Australia at Birmingham on 06.07.10. Umar Gul became the fourth Pakistan batsman to score three or more zeroes in T20Is. Others are – Kamran Akmal {04}, Shahid Afridi {04} and Shahzib Hasan {03}.

 

- Umar Gul became the second Pakistan batsman to be dismissed for zero against South Africa. Shahzaib Hasan was the other batsman to suffer such an ignominy at Nottingham on 18.06.09.

 

- Saeed Ajmal and Shoaib Akhtar were run out in this game providing the 22nd and 23rd occasion of Pakistan batsman run out in T20Is. Their run outs in this game provide the fifth occasion of two batsmen run out in an innings. The other four are – vs India at Durban on 14.09.07, vs Sri Lanka at Lord's on 12.06.09, vs Australia at Gros Islet on 14.05.10 and vs Australia at Birmingham on 05.07.10. Their run out provide the first such occasion against South Africa. 

 

- Apart from Saeed Ajmal and Shoaib Akthar who were run out in this game, the only other Pakistan batsman who was run out against South Africa is Younis Khan. He was run out for 1 at Jo'burg on 02.02.07.

 

- L Tsotsobe returned with his career best T20I figures of 3 for 16 in this game. His previous best was 1 for 16 vs Australia at Melbourne on 11.01.09.

 

- AB de Villiers scored zero in this game to provide the 24th occasion of a South African batsman scoring zero in T20Is. His zero in this game provide the first occasion of a South African batsman scoring zero against Pakistan in T20Is.

 

- AB de Villiers' zero in this game provides the second occasion of a South African wicket keeper batsman scoring zero in T20Is. AB de Villiers' a zero at Port Elizabeth against West Indies on 16.12.07 provides the first occasion. He became the first South African batsman to score zero against Pakistan in T20Is.

 

- JP Duminy and CA Ingram added 66 runs for the fourth wicket in this game providing the 27th occasion of South African batsmen posting a fifty plus runs in T20Is. This stand also provide the third occasion of South African batsman posting a fifty plus runs against Pakistan. The other two occasions are – 132* runs for the first wicket between GC Smith and LL Bosman at Johanneburg on 02.02.07 and 61 runs for the fourth wicket between JP Duminy and JH Kallis at Nottingham on 18.06.09.

 

- JP Duminy and CA Ingram added 66 runs for the fourth wicket in this game providing the record stand for the fourth wicket. The previous best was 61 runs stand between JP Duminy and JH Kallis at Nottingham on 18.06.09.

 

- JP Duminy and CA Ingram added 66 runs for the fourth wicket in this game providing the eighth occasion of fifty plus runs stand for the fourth wicket against all oppositions.
