  • T&T are on a roll

We have put the loss against the Delhi Daredevils down to just one of those things, especially with regard to the wicket and it certainly has not stopped our momentum. Anything can happen on that sort of a wicket. All the matches that have been played there have been low-scoring ones, so it was lucky for us that the Cape Cobras had already qualified for the semi-finals.

We are back in Hyderabad and are and happy to play on a wicket which is more suited to us, more like the type we get in South Africa. So we will go into the Champions League semi-final against Trinidad and Tobago tomorrow with our confidence high.

Yes, Trinidad and Tobago are on a roll and are playing some good cricket, and you have to give them credit for that. They deserve to be in the last-four. We, on the other hand, have scored our highest runs in the tournament here and for us it is not about whom we play against but more the occasion.

  • The guys have been enjoying their cricket

It's been a great Champions League for us so far. The guys have adapted well to the conditions and made the most of the opportunities. Confidence is high and they are enjoying the experience.

It has been disappointing that the stadiums have not been completely full, but the atmosphere has nevertheless been good and the boys have taken the crowds and noise in their stride. Apart from enjoying the experience of playing in India, a lot of them have also been out shopping and making the most of every day.

I hope we can keep the momentum going and put in a good performance against Victoria on Saturday. They are a well-balanced side with batting depth, that has the likes of David Hussey, Brad Hodge and Rob Quiney in it, and a strong bowling attack that includes Peter Siddle and Shane Harwood. So, they are strong in all departments, really, just like any Australian team and have played really good cricket till now. They obviously know how the wicket is playing after they had a go at it

  • A new experience for the Cobras

I'm excited, personally, to be back in India, this time to play in the Champions League: it's heaps of fun to play here in front of the huge and vociferous crowds.

Of course, this is a new experience for most of the Cobras who will be playing here for the first time and for whom India is the Mecca of cricket. We have told them to just enjoy the experience and concentrate on what we’ve come here to do: win. I'm sure things will go well once we get the nerves out of the way with our first game tomorrow, against Bangalore.

Graeme Smith not being with us makes a difference as his experience will be missed. However, the team has played without its international stars before, with success. I don't think there will be any added pressure on the seniors now that Graeme is not here; at least there's nothing like that for me.

Andrew Puttick, our captain, has been playing first-class cricket for a long time and has a good understanding of the game. He is also my opening partner, and being
