Nick-named 'Two Metre Peter' for his tall and intimidating presence, Peter Fulton is a right-handed opening batsman for New Zealand. Hailing from Christchurch, Canterberry, Fulton is a product of the old-fashioned, technical batsmen's league and created headlines with his maiden first class ton, an innings which he converted to a triple-century ending up on 301 not out.

Fulton has a simple and uncomplicated batting style and his hunger for runs is huge. He received his first international game in an ODI against Bangladesh in 2004 but just played the sole game. His second opportunity came late in 2005 and he grabbed it with both hands, scoring two fifties and his maiden ODI century. The right-hander had an impressive run in the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup with a tally of 297 runs.

Fulton had a very quiet start to his Test career with not many good scores to boast of with just one score of over fifty in his first sixteen innings spanning from early 2006 to late 2009, Injuries fogged his career as well but form was the main reason that got him dropped from the side. He worked hard on his game in the domestic circuit and came up with strong numbers to grab the selectors' attention.

After a gap of more than three years, Fulton was finally picked for the home Tests against England in 2013 and two centuries in both innings of the second Test in Auckland paved the way for greener pastures. Since then, he has featured in all the Tests New Zealand have played and has had a handy amount of runs to back him. Fulton had his troubles against spin but sorted them out in the nets and by playing first class games for Canterburry, thus helping him return with rich dividends.
