Profile
Pakistan’s Kabir Khan made his international debut in a Test against Sri Lanka in 1994 after entering the first-class arena in 1990/91.
A burly left-arm seamer and a right-handed batsman, Khan played a total of 10 ODIs for his team, but couldn’t cement his place in the side. He retired from first-class cricket in 2005 and took to coaching. His first assignment as coach was the Habib Bank Limited cricket team. Khan gained experience there and in 2008, he was appointed coach of the Afghanistan cricket team, helping them attaining One Day International status.
Later, in 2010, Khan gave up that position citing interference from the Afghanistan Cricket Board and moved on to coaching the UAE cricket team. However, he returned to the Afghanistan fold a year later, signing a 3-year contract with the team.
