Profile

Tino Best was one unconventional West Indian who was short in stature and could bowl at express pace. His belligerent and positive approach was his main strength and a bowler who never gave up till the very end.

After a successful domestic season in 2003, Best was selected for the home Test series against Australia. He was then picked for the 2006 ODI series against Zimbabwe but he failed to grab his chance as he found it hard to control his pace and maintain a disciplined line and length. After a long break Best found himself in the scheme of things when he was selected for the 2009 home series against West Indies when majority of the senior players backed out due to the differences with the West Indies Cricket Board and that was his last Test series. In the same year, Best played his last ODI against Pakistan in Johannesburg.

In June 2012, Best made his come back into the international circuit when he was included in the playing XI for the third Test against England. He created history when he scored a scintillating 95, which was then the highest score by a No. 11 in Tests.
