There are several cricketers who would have dreamed about a memorable debut but only few lucky players get their wish fulfilled. Tim Southee is one youngster who hogged most of the limelight in his debut Test. The right-handed seamer first scalped a 5-wicket haul in the first innings and then capped off a remarkable debut by smashing 77 runs in just 44 balls. Tim thus became the fastest scorer of a fifty for New Zealand in Test cricket. But all this humongous effort came in a losing cause as England won the Test and eventually the series.A product of the Under-19 system in New Zealand, Southee rose through the ranks gracefully. His impressive show at the junior level witnessed him jumping into the international arena at an early age. The 19-year old is a terrific swinger of the ball and with the batting potential he displayed in his maiden game, one can surely expect a great all-rounder in the making. In the years to come, Tim Southee is surely one man to watch out for in world cricket.
