A stylish left-hander and wicket-keeper, Shreevats Goswami represents Bengal in first-class cricket. He started playing cricket at the age of 11, went on to represent the Indian Under-19s on its tour to South Africa in 2008, and also made valuable contributions to the U-19 team in the World Cup held in Malaysia. Later that year, he made his first-class debut against Madhya Pradesh. He idolizes Adam Gilchrist.
Goswami opened the innings for the Bangalore Royal Challengers for a few games in the first three editions of the IPL. He was then signed by the Kolkata in 2011 and was retained the following year.
