Profile
Ramnaresh Sarwan is a batsman short in stature but he falls anything but short when it comes to cricketing ability. He showed supreme talent in the first few games he played which caused a lot of hype about his batting prowess. He lived upto that hype with a successful England tour in 2000. It was never looking back for the Guyanese batsman as he cemented his place in the Windies Test and ODI side. His footwork requires no early trigger movements and is strikingly confident and precise. One of Sarwan’s greatest strengths has been his ability to adapt to the situation and the game. Also, his basics are strong which is why it is even more difficult to dislodge him when set at the crease. In 2007, he was named the West Indies skipper after Brian Lara retired.
