Profile
Hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, Parvez Rasool is an all-rounder who made his first-class debut against Himachal Pradesh in 2008 and suddenly grabbed all the limelight a few years later.
Rasool had a fabulous domestic season in 2012-13, leading the batting as well as bowling charts for his team in the Ranji Trophy. In just seven games, the youngster scored 594 runs at an average of 50-plus, along with 33 wickets at an impressive 18.09 average. Further, he was quickly drafted in the India A squad to face the mighty Australians in a warm-up game. The talented all-rounder had no reason to disappoint, as he claimed a seven-wicket haul to dismantle the Aussie batting attack. Immediately after his success with the A team, Rasool was signed up by the IPL franchise Pune Warriors for the tournament’s sixth edition, thus making him the first player from his state to do so.
