Profile

Mohammad Nabi is one of the most important players in the Afghanistan ranks. Having played for Marylebone Cricket Club, Pakistan Customs, Nabi has been an instrumental figure in Afghanistan's rise in international cricket.

A middle-order right-handed batsman and a useful off break bowler, Nabi made his first-class debut for MCC having impressed Mike Gatting on the tour to India where he hit a century against his MCC side. He was instrumental in helping Afghanistan qualify for the World Cup Qualifiers in South Africa in 2009. He started off in a splendid fashion in the ODIs hitting a half-century on debut against Scotland in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers in 2009. Nabi was influential in Afghanistan's success in the 2010 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers as he scalped 13 wickets, highest by any bowler in the tournament.
