Profile
Along with seamer Wayne Parnell, Lonwabo Tsotsobe is another tall, left-arm swing bowler who looks to stake a permanent claim in South Africa’s teams of the future. A quick central contract was drawn soon after his 4/50 on ODI debut against Australia in 2009. His performances on the domestic front, initially for Eastern Province and then the Warriors helped him create an immediate impression.
As a relatively late entrant into the fold, Tsotsobe was given additional exposure against Zimbabwe and on tour to India. As with many young strike bowlers, he combines wickets with run, often going above 6 and over. The selectors persisted with him for the Caribbean tour in 2010, where he received his maiden Test cap.
