Profile
With the reputation of a finisher, Lahiru Thirimanne has been regarded as one of the most talented all-round batsmen that Sri Lanka has produced. Debuting in 2008 at the domestic level, the left-hander had a fruitful season with the Ragama Cricket Club in 2009-10, scoring more than 700 runs. He also represented the Sri Lankan Under-19 team at the 2008 Cricket World Cup in Malaysia. His impressive domestic form helped him in his selection for the national team and subsequently, Thirimanne made his ODI debut in 2010 against India, followed by his maiden Test appearance in in 2011 against England.
