A left-handed wicket-keeping batsman who plays for Jharkhand, the same state as his idol MS Dhoni. Born and brought up in the state of Bihar but due to some registration issue between Bihar Cricket Association and the BCCI, the southpaw was advised to shift his bases to Jharkhand. He also admired Adam Gilchrist during his childhood days and as he grew up, he was attracted towards David Warner’s style of aggressive batting. Kishan made his List A debut for Jharkhand at the tender age of 15 against Odisha in Ranchi.

The southpaw went onto score a promising 60 in his very first innings. Everything was going good but one innings against Saurashtra changed fortunes for him. He struck a fantastic 87 in just 69 balls in a Ranji Trophy game to grab all the limelight. This also landed him the opportunity to captain the U-19 World Cup team which finished runners-up in 2016 in Bangladesh. His contribution with the bat wasn't much but his craving for runs never died. Ishan bounced back even harder with even better performances in the domestic circuit. He went onto score a swashbuckling 273 against Delhi, which eventually got him a call-up for the Indian T20 League. Gujarat acquired the services of this talented youngster.
