Greg Smith is a right-handed opening batsman who made his first-class debut for Leicestershire in 2008. He was also a member of the England U19 team, scoring two Test centuries.
Smith is an excellent timer of the ball and drives it cleanly, every time he bats. He had a wonderful season with the county in 2010, scoring two back-to-back centuries, before scoring one for Durham. In doing so, he went on to top the first-class national batting averages. His bulk scoring was not the only attraction, but the manner in which he got those runs was also eye-catching. Smith has been quick on his feet, rising swiftly through Leicestershire's ranks.
