Profile

Faisal Iqbal is an exciting middle-order batsman from Pakistan. A flamboyant stroke player with sound defence, Iqbal was a prolific run-scorer at the junior level which prompted his move into the Test team.

However, Iqbal's entry into the Test team was criticized on grounds of favouritism - he happens to be Javed Miandad's nephew. But he demonstrated that he was worth that Test cap with an aggressive counter-attacking 83 off 85 balls in the first Test against Australia in Colombo in 2002-03.

His failure at the top level saw him disappear from the national side for many years. He made a comeback in 2005-06 and since then, has been in the scheme of things for Pakistan.
