Profile

Daniel Flynn, also nicknamed Flynnbo, Raymond and Errol, for a variety of reasons, is a Northern Districts batsman, who made his first class debut in 2003-04 after having played in the Under-19 World Cup and performed very well. It was only in the 2007 season that Flynn began to show his true colours with some lusty hitting and big scores and was chosen to play his first Twenty20 match against England at Christchurch. His debut did not go too well for his team as he scored only 1, and his team tumbled to a 50 run loss. However, later he did get a chance in the same series, for the ODIs, and again, he failed to get moving, scoring a duck! Fortunately, his team managed to win the match and the series. In turn, he also won the national contract for both the ODI and the Test teams, and his talent was further recognized when he made his Test debut in the rain affected Test match against England to score a 9 and an unbeaten 29 in a drawn match. In his second match however, he was hit by a James Anderson bouncer that broke his tooth and he had to retire hurt.
