One of the brightest talents in South Africa, CJ de Villiers is primarily a right-arm fast-medium bowler who can bat a bit too. He made a blistering first-class debut playing for Free State, scoring 49 runs and taking one wicket against Namibia in 2006. He scalped 19 wickets in the debut season and followed up with an impressive 40 wickets in 2007-08 season. He had a brilliant campaign for the Eagles in the 2009 Champions League scalping 6 wickets from 4 matches. de Villiers plays for the Titans and was drafted into their T20 squad to replace an injured Marchant de Lange for the 2012 Champions League T20.
