Profile
A left-handed middle-order batsman, Assad Fudadin first plied his trade for Guyana’s Under-19 side and then went to represent West Indies at the Under-19 World Cup in 2004. Three half-centuries from him ensured that his team reached the finals.
Assad became a vital cog in Guyana’s scheme of things and was also the highest run-scorer in the 2009-10 domestic tournament. Steady performances there earned him a call-up to the West Indies A side that toured England in 2010. Assad was then included in the Test squad for the series against Australia, after leg spinner Devendra Bishoo was dropped.
