Thousands of people today took part in the Sabarmati cyclothon event in Gujarat, held to spread environmental awareness. About 4000 participants turned up for the cyclothon that took place in Ahmedabad today morning. The event, which was organized by the local municipal corporation, was flagged off by the state finance minister Nitin Patel, and saw participants ranging from all age groups. The event significantly saw a sizeable number of participants belonging to the elderly category and they displayed their flair to remain fit at this advanced age. The event is being held with a special motive to spread awareness regarding the conservation of environment and also to raise the interest of people in cycling.
