Life in parts of Himachal and Kashmir came to a standstill on Thursday when both the states recorded heavy snowfall in Srinagar and Chamba. Authorities in Srinagar and Chamba have issued statutory warnings for the masses to avoid venturing into avalanche prone areas. Authorities have also started issuing warnings in areas close to the Line of Control (LoC) and have closed the Srinagar-Jammu national highway areas to eradicate traffic problems. While the snowfall by evening brought cheers for localities from the cold, the tourists also enjoyed the nature’s bounty.
