Threatened by the persistent Maoist attacks, hundreds of primary and secondary school teachers in Gumla district of Jharkhand staged a protest rally where they demanded security and also compensation for the families of Maoist violence victims. Almost 2000 teachers in the district marched to the office of district administration, demanding more security and compensation to the family members of the two victims. Recently Maoists killed two teachers when they were returning home after attending classes in Bharno town located in this district.
