Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 29.69 points up to stand at 19,497.84. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 11.20 points down to stand at 5,898.60. MMTC Ltd. and Jaypee Infratech Ltd. were among the top gainers with an increase of 7.54% and 5.88% along with Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd and DLF Ltd. with an increase of 5.18% and 5.02% respectively, while the top losers include Jet Airways (India) Ltd. and Great Eastern Shipping Company Ltd. with a decrease of 7.20% and 3.96% along with Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. and Havells India Ltd. with a decrease 2.12% and 2.04% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 15.98 points at 10,852.06, while the banking sector is up 12.56 points at 14,158.86 and the realty sector is up 41.21 points at 2,077.84. The Indian currency is down 0.13 % at Rs 54.29 per dollar. less
