The tribals living in the Gurpa forest are leading a miserable life.
Thousands of Munda families in this Maoist hotbed at the border area of Bihar and Jharkhand, have been leading a life similar to their ancestors in the primitive age. Surviving totally on the forest produce, the villagers claim that they do not possess voter identity card as well as official documents like ration card. These tribals are totally devoid of government facilities as they have been misunderstood for being naxalites.
Bihar's Minister for food supplies and consumer protection Shyam Rajak stated that information regarding this has been sent to the district magistrate who is investigating the matter.
