Protesters continued to stay out on the streets of Dhaka to vent their anger against the verdict handed to 64 years old Abdul Quader Mollah, who was expected to be given a death sentence, for the war crimes during Bangladesh's liberation struggle of 1971. A Bangladesh war crimes tribunal sentenced Mollah, a senior leader of Jamaat-e-Islami party to life in prison on February 05, the second verdict in trials that have reopened wounds about the country's independence war and sparked riots. Minister for Industries, Bangladesh, Dilip Barua said that the protest highlights the unity of those who stood against the crime.
