Union Information and Broadcasting Minister, Manish Tewari today said that professional armies should respect rules of engagement and jingoism needs to be avoided in the wake of the killing of two Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops near the border of the disputed region of Kashmir. Tewari's response was to the remark made by Senior BJP Leader Sushma Swaraj, that if India cannot bring back martyr Hemraj's head from Pakistan, then we should get at least 10 heads from their side. Tewari also said that aberrations of the rules of engagement are surmounted through tactical responses if necessary and the mapping of those responses should be left to professionals.
