Launching a scathing attack on Kashmir chief Omar Abdullah, opposition leader Mehbooba Mufti has said that the chief minister was trying to fool people by claiming that he was not aware of Afzal Guru's hanging. Mufti alleged that Omar Abdullah gave open support to the hanging. Mufti further asked why the state government didn't sent the family in an official plane to New Delhi to meet Guru before hanging. However, the regional National Conference (NC), which rules Kashmir, refused to comment on the allegations. Strict curfew is imposed in Kashmir in anticipation of violence following the execution of Guru who was sentenced to death 10 years ago for an attack on the parliament in 2001.
