The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today slammed the government's decision to allow state-run fuel retailers to raise prices of heavily subsidised diesel and said that it would adversely impact the agricultural sector. BJP spokesperson, Prakash Javadekar, while addressing mediapersons in New Delhi said that although the government had put the prerogative to increase prices on the companies, it was only an illusion. He further added that this decision would adversely impact the agricultural sector as costs for transporting goods would increase.
