A designated court at Hyderabad issued a directive to the police to lodge a cognisable complaint against Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi for his recent inflammatory remarks bordering communal hatred. The court has asked the Osmania University Police Station to lodge a complaint against Owaisi under section 153 (a) of the IPC for inciting religious sentiments. Meanwhile, the BJP has demanded treason charge to be slapped against Owaisi for making hate speech against majority Hindu community. The party has also asked the Congress, which rules Andhra Pradesh, to take a clear position on the issue because the MIM was one of its oldest allies.
