The decision by the government to defer formation of separate Telangana state out of Andhra Pradesh has invited the wrath of opposition parties even as the Congress Party gets defensive, saying it needs more consultations for a consensus to be built. Violent clashes dominated Andhra Pradesh with student protestors scuffling with security personnel, destroying barricades and even pelting stones at the police. Demonstrators demanding Telangana expressed their disappointment over the statements' made by Home Minister, Sushikumar Shinde and Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad clearly suggesting further delay in the decision. Meanwhile, K T Rama Rao, leader of regional Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), which has been spearheading the agitations for the state, said the government should announce a decision and not delay it any further.
