As the world is observing Cancer Day on February 4, the health department conducted a comprehensive survey in Punjab and displayed that nearly 18.25 people die every day due to cancer in Punjab. According to reports every 90 of 1 lakh people in Punjab are infected with cancer, whereas the national average is 80 person having cancer in 1 lakh. Of the 2.64 Crore people screened in the door-to-door campaign, 33,318 people were found to be dead due to cancer in last five years while 23,874 had symptoms of the disease.
