Former Lok Sabha speaker PA Sangma, who resigned from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) to contest the presidential election against Pranab Mukherjee, has formally launched his National People's Party (NPP) at a function in New Delhi. While interacting with the media persons, Sangma said that though NPP is meant for every citizen of India but it is going to be a tribal centric party. He also said that his party would start their work in tribal dominated areas like Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Odisha, North East first. NPP has chosen a sign of book as its symbol as they believe it is through literacy that people can be empowered.
