The government is paying special attention to planning, implementation and monitoring of development schemes, including the construction of roads in naxal-affected states in the country. Improving connectivity is the prime objective to bring about overall development. But, the Naxals continue to pose a threat to such developmental projects. In Chandwa village of Latehar district in Jharkhand, the government has issued many tenders for the construction of a road connecting the village with rest of the state. However, no contractors are willing to take up its construction as they fear attacks by the Naxals. Due to the poor condition of the road people are facing problems while commuting from one place to other.
