Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today met BJP president Rajnath Singh in New Delhi and congratulated him for his new responsibility.Modi had earlier tweeted: "Leaving for Delhi. Will meet Shri Rajnath Singhji and congratulate him on his taking over as BJP President."Rajnath Singh was formally elected as BJP president on 23rd Jan, as there was no other leader from the party who had filed his or her nomination papers. Rajnath Singh's name emerged after a series of meetings involving party leaders Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu, Ram Lal and Ananth Kumar.
