Maoists have abducted seven labourers from a bridge construction site in Bihar. The incident took place at the Badaldih village in Bihar's Jamui district, where all the seven labourers were carried off by the Maoists and the bed on which they were sleeping was set on fire. Reportedly the Maoists had been demanding an extortion amount of .15 crore rupees, but the refusal to pay them resulted in the abduction of the labourers. Commenting on the situation, the district's Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Virendra Sahu said that they are looking into the mater and would launch a search operation soon. This is the second such abduction committed by Maoists in the area. The last one was of a local contractor who was abducted in 2011.
