Due to the lack of markets in the Maoist infested Odisha, Maize growers expressed their distress as they do not get appropriate price for their produce. The farmers of the Nabarangpur district are not getting their due as per the minimum support price fixed by the government. Due to low income, the farmers are also unable to pay back their loans. While on the other hand, the sub-collector, Suman Behera said that they had already set up two markets and so far they have received no such complaint that farmers are selling their produce below the minimum support price (MSP). Maoist rebels in India are rapidly expanding their insurgency and could move from remote rural areas to cities.
