The Delhi High Court has today served notice to the government and the Delhi Police, seeking to quash cases against eight persons, who are alleged to be involved in the mysterious death of Constable Subhash Tomar during anti-rape protests at India Gate. The defence lawyer claimed that CCTV footage of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation showed that two of suspects were at metro stations at the time of the incident. The court directed the government as well as Delhi police to file their reply within seven days. The petitioner also urged the court to summon Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar, who had claimed that accused were arrested from the site of crime, and ask him to explain the basis of his statement.
