European budget fashion retailer Hennes and Mauritz (H and M) said that it will apply to open stores in India, as it seeks to expand into faster-growing markets. The issue was discussed during a meeting between Union commerce and industry minister Anand Sharma and HandM CEO, Karl Johan Persson in New Delhi. Speaking to mediapersons after the meeting, Persson said that his company is keen to do business in the Indian market, which for them, is full of fashion interested customers. The government has been pushing through reforms to allow foreign retailers into the country to help stimulate the economy.
