Even as Union Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal announced a fare hike today with effect from January 21-22 midnight, aiming at modernizing the railways, the main opposition, BJP has condemned the move, slamming the UPA Government for failing to tame inflation. BJP Spokesperson, Prakash Javadekar called it an atrocious move, adding to the woes of the people already overburdened by inflation.
