Backing the remarks of the home minister Sushilkumar Shinde, home secretary RK Singh has claimed that the government has names of 10 persons associated with the RSS, who were involved in blasts. Singh said the accused were involved in the 2007 blasts in the Samjhauta Express, Dargah Sharif blasts in Ajmer and Mecca Masjid blasts in Hyderabad in the same year. The BJP, however, dared the government to act, if it had evidence. Shinde had earlier claimed that the BJP and its parent body the RSS, were recruiting and training Hindu militants and they were involved in militancy. Shinde's statement caused massive political uproar, as BJP demanded his removal from the cabinet. The ruling Congress Party was forced to distance itself from his controversial remark. less
