[FLASHBACK] Tendulkar scales the 15K-run summit
Ireland is an unlikely setting for a cricketing milestone, but on 29 June 2007, the country had its share of the limelight when Sachin Tendulkar made history in Belfast when he reached 15,000 one-day runs.
Tendulkar missed out on a 42nd ODI century in this match against South Africa, but his 93 helped India overhaul the 227-run target for the loss of four wickets with five balls to spare. For the scorecard of the match, click here.
Tendulkar retired from ODI cricket in December 2012 and he finished his illustrious career in the 50-over format with world records for most matches (463), most runs (18,426) and most centuries (49). Tendulkar, who is also the first male cricketer to score a double century in the format, ended his ODI career with an average of 44.83 and strike rate of 86.23. [TAG: CYCSPL]
