Well known bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, who is fondly called as Dada turned 53 today. Born as Jaikishen in a Gujarati-speaking family in Mumbai, Jackie made his acting debut with a small negative role in Dev Anand's Heera Panna (1973) but his real success came with the film HERO, a 1983 film by Subhash Ghai that made him an over night star. Since then, the actor has given several hits like Andar Bahar, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak, Tridev and Sangeet. Shroff even excelled in supporting roles in Parinda and 1942: A Love Story and won Filmfare Awards for them. less
