Jammu and Kashmir is renowned for its natural beauty. It is also known for harmony between people of different communities that reside here.One such example is provided by the shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Hamza Makhdoom Rahamtullah Alaih in Srinagar. It is one of the most sacred shrines in Kashmir and recently, the annual Urs was celebrated, which saw people of all religions thronging in huge numbers. This shrine attracts devotees belonging to different faiths throughout the year, not only from the state but also from different parts of the country. The culture of Kashmir, or 'Kashmiriyat', is a synthesis of the traditions of different religions.
The Sufi saints of Kashmir not only moulded the history and the culture of state, but also contributed remarkably to the evolution and development of its composite culture.
